Each dog has a favourite toy, treat, colour, and flavour. Many of these favourite unlock by playing through a dogs journey! You can also unlock certain favourites by giving it to the dog. When given a favourite item for the first time, a notification will pop up letting you know you've found one of the dog's favourite things!
