Some of the final butterflies in a set will have something called an Alternate Form or the ability to "Transform". The Flutterpedia page for a species will let you know if you have the Alternate Form of a species and when you locate these butterflies in the forest they will have a button to "Transform" in order to see a different version of this species such as the male/female or a specific sub-species!
